Will Satellite Internet Work With VOIP (Voice Over IP)?

While VOIP will work on our system it is not what the system was designed for. With Internet over Satellite there is a 1-2 second latency which, while not noticable while browsing, will become apparent during a conversation.
As well, the upload of the Home Internet service may not provide sufficient speeds to maintain voice transfer. What this means is that while you will be be able to hear the person you are calling, to them your voice will sound choppy.
If you would like to try VOIP we strongly encourage use of a program such as Skype which will allow you to test the service for free.

How do I secure the dish?

The assembled pieces of the dish and tripod are about 50 pounds and will usually be anchored with tent pegs, a stake in the middle and possibly additional weight. The dish is connected to the modem inside your unit by two coax cables.

What if our AI system is stolen?

Stealing the unit would not be as easy as just grabbing it. Without the Internet modem the system is not useable, and the tripod and dish are not likely to fetch much on the black market. Tech MCW has never had a customer report a theft or vandalism of their system.
